Responsibilities
- Safely operate ambulance vehicles, following all local and state transportation regulations.
- Transport patients efficiently from emergency scenes or healthcare facilities to hospitals or clinics while maintaining a high standard of safety and comfort.
- Communicate effectively with medical personnel and dispatchers.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, maintenance checks, and ensure all safety equipment is operational before each shift.
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and regulations during all driving activities, demonstrating responsible chauffeur driving practices.
- Assist with loading and unloading patients using manual handling techniques while ensuring their safety and comfort during transit.
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle condition reports for compliance and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, bus driver, chauffeur, or shuttle driver with a strong understanding of passenger vehicle operation.
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., <PERSON> driver license or equivalent), with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating Emergency Vehicles is preferred.
- Knowledge of GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning on local routes.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely when assisting patients or loading equipment.
- Familiarity with state transportation regulations and safety standards related to medical transportation services.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team coordination under pressure.
- Strong customer service orientation with a compassionate approach toward patients and clients.
- Basic vehicle maintenance skills to identify issues early and ensure vehicle readiness at all times.
