Business Development Manager – Label Printing Solutions
Reports to: Director of Sales Department
Base Salary: $55,000-$65,000 plus commission
Position Summary
WW&L is seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to expand our presence in the label printing market. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing lasting customer relationships, and driving revenue growth through the sale of our label printing products and services.
The ideal candidate is an experienced sales professional with a consultative approach, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to generate leads, build relationships, and close business. Experience in the printing or packaging industry is preferred, with knowledge of label printing considered a strong advantage.
Key Objectives
- Represent WW&L's products and services with a comprehensive understanding of how our solutions meet customer needs.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals through effective sales planning, prospecting, and account management.
- Generate new business by identifying prospects, developing qualified leads, and building relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans using knowledge of WW&L's products, services, and market opportunities.
- Utilize customer research and market intelligence to identify growth opportunities and position WW&L as a trusted business partner.
Essential Responsibilities
- Prospect, qualify, and develop new B2B business opportunities within target industries including food and beverage, medical, automotive, consumer goods, and label converting.
- Manage, retain, and grow an assigned multi-state sales territory and/or key account portfolio by building strong, long-term customer relationships.
- Conduct effective discovery meetings, identify customer needs, present tailored solutions, and manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting through closing.
- Present WW&L's products and services through professional sales presentations, product demonstrations, proposals, and customer meetings.
- Provide technical guidance on pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) products, adhesive chemistries (hot melt, water-based, solvent, UV), label materials, and converting applications to recommend optimal solutions.
- Coordinate customer quotations, product samples, testing, and trial runs with Customer Service, Technical Services, Manufacturing, and other internal teams.
- Understand customer manufacturing processes, application requirements, and business objectives to develop value-added solutions.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms while maintaining profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, opportunity pipelines, forecasts, and account plans within the company's CRM system.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution, product implementation, and exceptional customer service.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, emerging technologies, and customer needs to identify new growth opportunities.
- Represent WW&L at customer meetings, industry conferences, trade shows, and professional association events to strengthen market presence and generate new business.
- Prepare regular sales reports, territory updates, and revenue forecasts for management.
- Travel throughout the assigned territory as required to support customer relationships, business development activities, and industry events.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of successful outside B2B industrial, technical, or manufacturing sales experience.
- Experience selling pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) products, labels, packaging, printing, or related converting solutions, preferably at the enterprise level.
- Demonstrated ability to prospect, generate new business, and develop long-term customer relationships.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage decision-makers at all organizational levels.
- Ability to understand manufacturing processes, substrates, product applications, and technical customer requirements.
- Proficiency with CRM software such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar customer relationship management systems.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and driven to meet or exceed sales objectives.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Three to five (3–5) years of experience in sales or customer-facing roles.
- Experience selling printing, labels, packaging, or related industrial products.
- Knowledge of flexographic, digital, or pressure-sensitive label printing processes is highly desirable.
- Experience using CRM platforms and sales management software.
- Understanding of manufacturing, packaging, or industrial sales environments is a plus.

Work Environment
This position begins as an on-site role to provide comprehensive training and hands-on experience with WW&L's products, services, and manufacturing processes. Periodic travel to customer locations, conferences, and trade shows may be required.
