We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and customer-focused Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about coffee, take pride in delivering exceptional customer service, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. We are a new start up coffee bar with no drive thru, yet we are in a high traffic location. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso drinks, and brews. Willingness to learn new recipes and help create them.
- Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and handle cash and card transactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar, equipment, and seating areas.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Learn and explain menu items, including specials, ingredients, and customization options.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operation and excellent customer experience.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns with professionalism and escalate when necessary.
- Open and/or close the café as required, including cleaning and equipment shutdown or setup.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a barista or in a customer service role (preferred but not required; training will be provided to the right candidate).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including Saturdays and holidays.
- Comfortable standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks.
- Basic math skills and ability to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system.
