Position Overview
The Community Health for Improved Lives and Development (CHILD) waiver is a new Kentucky Medicaid program designed to provide support for children with significant behavioral or developmental challenges to live safely at home instead of in a hospital or residential facility.
As a Community Living Support professional, you will provide personalized assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other challenges, helping them accomplish everyday tasks and strengthening their independence and enhancing their quality of life within their homes and communities. Your compassionate approach will help create a supportive environment where clients can thrive, grow, and achieve their goals.
Duties
- Implement ways to achieve specific goals and objectives in the child's Person-Centered Service Plan (PCSP)
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all services provided
- Maintain a safe environment for the child
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral health needs is strongly preferred
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members as well as maintain documentation
- Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation for community outings and appointments
- Certification or training in medication administration is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn required skills
Training and certification in CPR within the first week of employment and recertification as required by regulation. Annually each employee must have a TB test or be determined to be free of symptoms of tuberculosis if there was a previous positive TB test.
