American Traveler is hiring an LPN/LVN for a Medical Surgical assignment at a correctional facility in Illinois, requiring an active IL LPN license and experience in acute or ambulatory care.

Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (11:00–23:30)

Every other weekend (approximately 2 weekends per month) required

Mandatory float facility — all clinicians are required to float at the facility's discretion, including to units outside their primary area of competency

Charting on Cerner
-
Free parking available on a first-come, first-serve basis

13-week assignment

Active Illinois LPN license required (no pending licenses accepted)

Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing in Illinois
-
Current BLS certification
-
Documented completion of an approved Pharmacology/Medication Administration course for Practical Nurses in accordance with IDFPR standards (documentation must be provided upon request)

Minimum 2 years of recent full-time paid clinical experience in an acute care or ambulatory care facility preferred

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required — no exceptions; booster not required

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

License required if applicable

Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate

RTO is capped at 5 days for the contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days off at a time
-
RTO on weekends will not be approved
-
No RTO on holidays or the day immediately before or after a holiday
-
No special scheduling or block scheduling requests will be approved

Clinicians may receive notice to float to another Cook County facility up to 2 hours before their shift; refusal to float may result in contract cancellation

Float assignments may occur outside the clinician's primary area of competency; a team-based model will be utilized in those cases
