Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and mechanical systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and building automation system diagrams to accurately diagnose issues.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot electrical components within HVAC/R equipment.
- Diagnose system failures efficiently and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with EPA regulations regarding refrigerant handling and disposal; maintain accurate service records.
- Operate a driver vehicle safely for field service calls across various property sites.
- Collaborate with property maintenance teams to ensure HVAC systems meet operational standards.
Qualifications
- Valid HVAC license with proven experience.
- Construction experience combined with mechanical knowledge for complex system installations and repairs.
- Strong understanding of schematics, HVAC design principles, and electrical diagnostics.
- Experience with mechanical systems repair including boilers, pumps, fans, and other building equipment.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
- EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in electrical diagnostics or building automation are advantageous.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; excellent problem-solving skills required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
