Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Inc. (HOSC) is seeking a Chaplain to join our Spiritual Care Team. This is a weekend field position to provide support at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence (KFHR) located in Newburgh and to meet the emergent spiritual needs of patients and families throughout Orange and Sullivan Counties. In addition to weekends, the part-time Chaplain may be called on provide coverage on holidays and to meet other staffing needs during the week.
The Chaplain is an integral member of the interdisciplinary hospice care team providing compassionate spiritual and emotional support to patients and their loved ones. Through comprehensive spiritual assessments and individualized care planning, the Chaplain helps patients and their loved ones find peace, meaning, and comfort in accordance with their spiritual or religious beliefs and goals.
Education and Experience:

Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology (B.D., M.Div. or equivalent) and/or experience working with death and dying, individuals/family/caregiver.

Comfortability in an interfaith setting.

Hospice/palliative care experience preferred.
- Completion of two units of Clinical Pastoral Education and working towards professional certification preferred.

Computer literacy and familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Systems.

A clean, acceptable driving record with reliable transportation.

Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy of care.

Ability to work as member of interdisciplinary group.

Ability to network with community clergy and congregations.
