We are seeking a dedicated and energetic CDL Medical Transport Driver to join our team! Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles, including buses, paratransit vans, or specialized transport vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and vehicle codes
- Provide courteous and timely customer service by assisting passengers with boarding, exiting, and ensuring their comfort during transit
- Respond quickly to traffic changes and emergency situations using defensive driving techniques and emergency response procedures for transportation
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine mechanical checks to ensure safety and reliability
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, or care staff using clear language and professional communication skills
- Follow all safety protocols including emergency stop procedures, child or senior care policies, and behavior management when working with vulnerable populations
- Complete accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and incident reports as required
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement (P) for passenger transport
- Proven experience and safety record in bus driving, school bus driving, or commercial transportation roles
- Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, defensive driving techniques, and emergency response procedures for transportation
- Ability to routinely push or pull adult in wheelchair up and down ramps, through doors, and secure them into anchors in the vehicle
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely when assisting passengers or handling equipment
- Working smartphone and ability to effectively use application(s) to see passenger trips, navigate using GPS, make and answer calls hands-free, etc.
- Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities
- Basic cechanical knowledge for routine vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance awareness for reporting to mechanics
- Problem solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks for effective time management are highly desirable
- Strong behavior management skills to ensure passenger safety and comfort during transit
