PRN Registered Nurse (RN) – Flexible Contract Position

Are you an RN looking for meaningful work with the flexibility to choose when you're available? Mountain Valley Developmental Services is seeking a compassionate PRN Contract Registered Nurse to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Garfield, Eagle, Pitkin, and Lake Counties.
This is an as-needed contract position perfect for nurses looking to supplement their income, maintain a flexible schedule, or continue practicing without the commitment of a full-time position.
What You'll Do
You'll primarily provide support with specialized care training and self-medication monitoring:
- Conduct nursing assessments, medication reviews, and evaluations to ensure individuals receive safe, high-quality care and remain compliant with state regulations.
- Train, mentor, and monitor QMAP-certified staff, including competency evaluations, medication administration support, and specialized care such as gastrostomy services.
- Develop and maintain individualized health protocols, provide education to individuals and staff, and support safe medication self-administration when appropriate.
- Monitor the health and well-being of individuals receiving services, including those taking psychotropic medications, and communicate concerns with healthcare providers and the care team.
- Complete accurate documentation, maintain regulatory compliance, and provide nursing guidance to staff as needed.
Assignments will vary based on organizational needs and your availability.
What We're Looking For
- Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license
- One year of nursing experience preferred
- Experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a plus
- Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills
- Valid Colorado driver's license and reliable transportation
- Professional, organized, and able to work independently

Position Type: PRN Contract (As Needed)
Schedule: Flexible; assignments offered based on organizational need and your availability.
Compensation: Competitive hourly contract rate based on experience.
