Position Summary
The Psychologist – Mobile Unit Services provides psychological assessment, diagnosis, therapy, consultation, and crisis intervention to children, adolescents, and adults through Gibson Center for Behavioral Change's Mobile Behavioral Health Unit. This position delivers high-quality behavioral health services directly within schools, community organizations, healthcare facilities, partner agencies, and other community settings to improve access to care for underserved populations.
The psychologist works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide trauma-informed, evidence-based care while promoting early intervention, prevention, and recovery. Services may be provided in the mobile unit, community locations, or through secure telehealth platforms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and diagnostic assessments.

Diagnose behavioral health disorders using DSM-5-TR criteria.

Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and client needs.

Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group psychotherapy.

Administer, score, and interpret psychological testing when clinically appropriate.

Provide crisis intervention, suicide risk assessments, and safety planning.

Deliver behavioral health services within the Mobile Behavioral Health Unit and other approved community locations.

Coordinate care with schools, physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, case managers, and community agencies.

Educate clients, families, caregivers, and community partners regarding behavioral health conditions and treatment recommendations.

Participate in outreach events, wellness screenings, and behavioral health education initiatives.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record in accordance with agency, Medicaid, insurance, CARF, and regulatory standards.

Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, supervision, staff meetings, and required trainings.

Travel throughout the service area utilizing the Mobile Unit to provide behavioral health services.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
-
Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, School Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Licensure
-
Current Missouri Psychologist License in good standing or the ability to obtain Missouri licensure prior to employment.
Experience
-
Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical experience providing psychological services.

Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families preferred.

Experience in community mental health, crisis intervention, substance use treatment, integrated healthcare, or school-based behavioral health is highly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of psychological assessment and diagnostic testing.

Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and evidence-based treatment models.

Ability to work independently in community-based and mobile service settings.

Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and community partners.

Proficiency with electronic health records and telehealth technology.

Ability to adapt to changing environments while maintaining professionalism and high-quality care.
Additional Requirements

Valid Missouri driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Ability to travel throughout the agency's service area using the Mobile Behavioral Health Unit.

Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within the required timeframe.

Ability to work occasional evenings or community outreach events as needed.
Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.

Ability to enter and exit the Mobile Unit safely.

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Ability to travel frequently throughout the service area.
