Other duties may be assigned.
1. Assist in preparing all entrees, fruits, vegetables, breads, desserts, salads and a la carte items daily as directed by the Head Cook.
2. Monitor and replenish steam table pans & other items as necessary.
3. Adhere to all HACCP food safety standard operation procedures (SOPs) as outlined in the food service department's Food Safety Plan.
4. Monitor and record temperatures of prepared food items.
5. Use proper hand-washing and glove use techniques.
6. Complete daily cleaning & sanitizing of cafeteria workstations as determined by Head Cook.
7. Comply with all departmental & District policies and procedures, as well as governmental regulations. 8. Report all hazardous conditions to Head Cook immediately.
9. Report all accidents/incidents to Head Cook immediately.
10. Immediately report to Head Cook all symptoms of high-risk conditions associated with foodborne illness.
11. Work as a team player.
12. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
13. Must be courteous to faculty, staff, students and guests at all times.
14. Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity and demonstrate the ability to deal with sensitive information (free & reduced price eligibility) in an appropriate & confidential manner.
Physical Job Requirements:
1. Must be able to move continuously throughout the work day
2. Must be in good general health and able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
3. Must remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplacethroughout employment in the Corporation
4. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function
adequately so the requirements of the position can be fully met
5. May be required to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of fifty (50) pounds throughout the day
6. Must be able to tolerate a noisy environment and warm temperatures
