Summary of Responsibilities:
Responsible for greeting incoming patients, distributing paperwork, entering in pertinent information into Centricity including insurance and demographic, and coordinate the scheduling of patients.
Requirements:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Enter and verify that all patient demographics and billing information correctly entered/verified at the time of check in.

Interview patient or patient's designee to obtain all necessary information for production of a complete and factual registration document.

Effectively explain intake paperwork, obtain required signatures, and assemble electronic documents for Electronic Health Records system.

Maintain open channels of communication and clear flow of information between all appropriate PFC providers, PFC administration and all relevant facilities.

Advise patients of their financial responsibility. Accepts payments on any balances related to patient's liability.

Answer incoming calls in a prompt, courteous, efficient, and professional manner. (ie. "Perkins Family Clinic,this is_____________How may I help you?")

Maintain open channels of communication and clear flow of information between all appropriate PFC providers, PFC administration and all relevant facilities.

Greet patients, guests, visitors and clinic staff in a friendly and professional manner.

Perform accurate, thorough and timely data entry in electronic Scheduling and electronic health records.

Be familiar with system downtime registration process.

Maintain confidentiality of provider information.

Keep admissions desk clean and organized.
-
Performs other duties as required.
Education and Experience:
-
High School diploma or G.E.D, with qualifications as stated below:
-
Training, experience, and/or certification in health informatics, billing and coding are preferable.

Three years minimum experience in accounts payable preferable
-
One year experience working with a health care setting or with medical service providers preferable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

General knowledge of medical business office practices
-
Knowledge of but not limited to admitting/registration process, and medical billing regulations.

Knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in regard to confidentiality and the release of medical information.

Skill and ability to organize and multi-task- ability to prioritize tasks by importance and accomplish highest priority tasks each day.

Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with co-workers, medical care providers, management personnel, tribal leaders and the general public both orally and in writing.

Ability to work with others on an individual basis utilizing high interpersonal skills.

Must be able to read, understand, apply and retain knowledge of departmental rules, regulations, and policies.

Outstanding organizational abilities and must be able to prioritize.

Ability to maintain calm temperament under stressful conditions.

Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and internet resources.

Annual TB skin test, proof of previous positive PPD results or negative chest X-ray.

Hepatitis A & B, Tdap, MMR and Varicella vaccinations, proof of previous vaccinations or proof of positive titer.
