The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing broadly the administrative and operational functions in support of Family Choice clinical and care management programs, and the Family Choice strategic plan as determined by the CEO, the Board of Managers and Executive Leadership.
The Director of Operations is responsible for all of the following either directly through reporting relationships.
- Responsible for successful implementation and development of new programs and the enhancement and expansion of existing programs.
- Collaborate with the COO and other members of the Leadership Team to develop, implement, and provide ongoing performance meeting short term and long-range plans and budgets to achieve corporate goals, including financial performance and growth objective.
- Assure compliance with state and federal regulations that govern company operations.
- Draft and develop policies and procedures in response to changing legal, regulatory, and operational requirements for approval by the COO or other members of the Team.
- Work with the COO and other members of the Leadership Team to develop and implement annual program budgets.
- Review trend reports with department managers to ensure budgetary, operational, and quality goals are being achieved.
- Maintain a positive and effective professional relationship with health plan partners, community partners and community organizations when as requested.
- Foster effective teamwork with the organization.
- Perform in depth analysis to identify barriers/opportunities for reaching program goals and objectives.
- Guide and direct program management in the development, operation, promotion and financial aspects of the organization’s programs and services.
- In collaboration with the COO create the structure and processes necessary to manage the organization’s current activities and its projected growth.
- Develop and install procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow with the organization.
- In collaboration with other members of the Leadership Team, establish operating policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal law and regulations and health plan policies.
- Evaluate the results of overall operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to the COO.
- Approve expenditures within the authority delegated by the COO, CFO or CEO.
- Comply with fiscal procedures as determined by the CFO.
- Work with Director of Compliance to identify potential risks and ensure that staff is educated and complies with the legal and regulatory requirements that impact the company.
- Acts as the primary FCNY operational interface with the electronic record vendors.
- Chairs and manages routine meetings with the vendors and FCNY stakeholders with a goal of developing more effective design and use of the systems. Holding participants accountable for related assignments.
- Championing our design needs effectively with the vendors.
- Regularly conveys development status to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with CFO and CISO on all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, and maintenance of both the Family Choice PC and LLC information security policies and procedures in accordance with applicable federal and state laws, as well as any applicable contractual requirements.
- Works with the Chief Information Security officer to ensure that company information is securely stored, and privacy/confidentiality is maintained as required by law and regulation.
- Responsible for ensuring EHR vendors are providing support of programs as required.

- Determine staffing requirements.
- Recruit, hire and onboard/train new staff.
- Supervise direct reporting staff according to overall company policy.
- Set employee goals and objectives.
- Monitor and conduct performance evaluations of staff at the end of the 90-day introductory period, at established development plan dates and at annual anniversary dates for own direct reports.
- Delegate work duties to staff to attain objectives.
- Provide coaching, disciplinary/corrective action as necessary up to termination.
- Develop staff to maximize potential.
- Develop department procedures.
- Apply strategic planning to determine company, department or unit objectives.
- Collaborate with and contribute to the Leadership Team.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a business administration or related field, MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience in health care field.
- Strong knowledge of managed care systems/processes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
