American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a Level I trauma, academic Main OR position requiring NBSTSA certification and 2 years of experience.

Work in a 21-suite Main Operating Room within a Level I trauma, academic teaching hospital
-
Covers all surgical specialties including Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU/GYN, and Robotics
-
Common cases include total joints, spine, trauma, crani/spine neuro, ENT flaps, robotics, transplants/procurements, trauma/burns, and GU/GYN
-
Days shift, 3x12 hours, 6:30A-7:00P
-
Requires up to 1 weekend shift per 4-week schedule period
-
Requires up to 4 call shifts per 4-week schedule period
-
Holiday rotation required
-
May float within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units or sister facilities

Uses EPIC charting system
-
Radiation badge required, to be provided by the agency

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist required
-
Experience in Neuro (spines/crani), ENT (flaps), and Robotics (Davinci Xi) cases highly preferred
-
NBSTSA certification required (NCCT not accepted)

BLS certification required (AHA certifications only)

Level I trauma center experience required

License required if applicable

Work within a Magnet-designated, nurse-driven Main OR utilizing cutting-edge surgical technology

Nursing team composition is approximately 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists

Scrubs are provided

First-time travelers may be considered for this position

Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local
-
Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler

All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration for the position

Block scheduling may be requested but requires manager approval and is not guaranteed
-
During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
