Position Summary
The Residential Trash Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating a commercial trash truck to collect and transport residential solid waste and recyclables along assigned routes. This role REQUIRES a valid CDL Class B license, strict adherence to DOT and company safety standards, and a commitment to providing professional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
· Operate a residential trash truck in a safe and efficient manner on designated routes.
· Collect residential waste, recycling, and yard debris according to company schedules and local regulations.
· Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required documentation.
· Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards at all times.
· Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and team members.
· Report mechanical issues, route delays, or safety concerns immediately.
· Maintain accurate records of service, loads, and route completion.
· Assist helpers, when applicable, in loading waste into the truck.
· Keep assigned vehicle clean and fueled.
Qualifications
· Valid CDL Class B license required.
· Clean driving record and ability to meet all DOT requirements.
· Prior experience operating trash trucks REQUIRED.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in outdoor environments under various weather conditions.
· Strong attention to safety, reliability, and time management.
· Good communication and customer service skills.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
· Frequent bending, lifting, pulling, and climbing in and out of the truck.
· Ability to work in hot, cold, and inclement weather.
Work Schedule
Full-time position; schedules may include early mornings, weekends, and holidays depending on route needs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
