About the Role
As a Steel Fabrication Specialist, you will play a critical role in transforming raw materials into high-quality structural components that form the backbone of complex construction projects. By leveraging your expertise in blueprint interpretation and precision metalwork, you will ensure that every assembly meets rigorous industry standards for safety and structural integrity.
Responsibilities-
Interpret complex structural steel shop drawings and weld symbols to execute precise fabrication sequences.

Perform accurate layout, marking, and fitting of steel components using advanced measurement tools.

Execute high-quality tack welding and thermal cutting operations using oxy-fuel and plasma equipment.

Operate overhead cranes and power tools to maneuver heavy materials safely and efficiently.

Conduct thorough self-inspections to ensure all work aligns with AISC quality management standards.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including CNC operators and quality control personnel, to streamline production workflows.

Maintain a high-standard, organized workspace to promote operational safety and efficiency.
Qualifications-
5+ years of professional experience in structural steel fabrication.

Advanced proficiency in reading and interpreting 2D structural blueprints.

Demonstrated expertise in manual layout, fitting, and shop math.

Proven ability to operate MIG welding equipment and manual plasma cutters.

Strong understanding of steel fabrication tolerances and material grades.

Experience with overhead crane operation and rigging safety.

Familiarity with AISC quality documentation and heat number tracking.

Strong problem-solving skills regarding drawing discrepancies or material issues.
