Overview: We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician with 1+ years of experience to join our team. As an HVAC Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems and ice machines.
Responsibilities:
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems including heating units, air conditioning units, ventilation systems, and refrigeration units
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on HVAC systems
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems
- Order necessary parts
- Accountable for inventories, requisitions, materials, and supplies needed for each job
- Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring
- Test HVAC systems for proper functioning
- Comply with all safety standards and regulations
- Must utilize power tools (drills, generators, saws, lifts, vacuum equipment)
- Climb ladders and stairs. Work off ladders using hand tools and power tools to include working off lift platforms at heights above six feet. Use lifting, moving and rigging equipment to safely move, transfer or relocate heavy equipment
- Operate refrigeration recovery equipment in compliance with EPA guidelines
- Work in adverse working conditions such as confined spaces, dirty/greasy areas, low lighting, and extreme temperatures. Stoop, bend and reach. Lift up to 75 pounds.
- Professional, courteous, and respectful to customers as well as fellow employees. Strong communication skills and commitment. Professional personal appearance and some internet skills. 100% dedication to safety, working hard, being on time and staying organized
- Drive company vehicles. On average, about 30-40% of the time will be spent driving.
- This position requires working a rotating on-call/standby schedule and may be called in for emergency response including nights, weekends, and holidays. Occasional overnight travel.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience
- Proven experience as an HVAC Technician or relevant position
- Certification from an accredited technical school or completion of an apprenticeship program
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of HVAC systems
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (Van driver experience is a plus)
- Experience in appliance repair is beneficial
- Ability to maintain and service various types of HVAC equipment including HVAC/R systems and air conditioning units.
