American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (Neuro Stepdown) position at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center, requiring NIHSS certification and Epic experience.

Located in the 7A Neurology unit of a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
-
Neuro stepdown patient population with complex and challenging cases

Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
-
Weekend shifts required — 4 per month

Block scheduling is not available
-
No on-call responsibilities

Active RN license — GA or Compact

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 2 years of experience in neuro stepdown or progressive care nursing

Candidates with a strong med/surg background combined with NIHSS, ACLS, and some stepdown experience may also be considered

Epic EMR experience required

Experience in high-volume, high-acuity hospital environments with diverse and severe cases required

This is a Level 1 trauma center that handles complex, high-acuity neurological and trauma cases requiring the ability to manage critical, fast-paced situations

Candidates whose experience is limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
