Virginia Highlands Community College is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach day and evening courses in subject areas that may not currently have active job postings.
This is to establish a pool of applicants that may be used in the future as adjunct faculty position become available. Applications will be reviewed and considered as vacancies occur.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications required by the accrediting agency in the discipline taught.
Disciplines within the School of School of Health Professions:
- Health (including Nutrition, BLS CPR, Medical Terminology, & other related health courses)
- Health Sciences (including Public Health, Kinesiology)
- Medical Assisting
- Nursing
- Practical Nursing
For Health, Health Sciences, & Medical Assisting, credentials will be reviewed based on the discipline and course credentialing requirements.
For Nursing and Practical Nursing, the required qualifications include:
- Current license or multistate licensure privilege to practice nursing in Virginia as a registered nurse without any disciplinary action that restricts practice
- Have had at least two years of direct client care experience as a registered nurse prior to employment by the program
- Clinical adjunct faculty in Nursing/Practical Nursing must hold either:
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BSN) OR
- An associate degree in Nursing and be actively enrolled in a baccalaureate degree program
