PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
The Facilities Department seeks to advance that vision through providing integral support and services to the ministry and mission of Highland Park Presbyterian Church and its family of churches with excellence, joy, and integrity.
The Facilities Operator supports the Facilities Department and the vision for Highland Park Presbyterian Church by ensuring the environments on our campus are welcoming and clean, inviting people to experience God in the fellowship of a Christ-centered community.
DESIRED RESULTS/IMPACT OF THIS POSITION
- Assigned areas/rooms will be immediately ready for the next event 100% of the time, with furniture neatly placed, free of trash and clutter, vacuumed/mopped, disinfected and sanitized. Complete minor repairs in rooms including touch up painting, caulking, light bulb replacement, etc.
- Responsiveness to urgent room needs (i.e., spill clean-ups, etc.) are within 5 minutes of notification
- Bathrooms in all areas will be completely clean, mopped and sanitized, smelling fresh and clean throughout the day.
- Room setups are executed with no errors and 100% accuracy based on the instructions given by the event organizer or found on the HUB.
- Positive feedback from event organizers, to include feedback on customer service and accuracy. Practice common hospitality while preforming job duties.
- Safety/Wet-Floor signage is cleared away within 5 minutes of resolution of situation, maintain OSHA standards for all equipment and cleaning tools.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing
- Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards, if needs arise contact supervisor for resolution.
- Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies
- Notify superiors on any damages, deficits and disturbances
- Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience
- Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate
- Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Education: High School Diploma, or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Cleaner or Housekeeper
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
- Customer-oriented and friendly
- Prioritization and time management skills
- Working quickly without compromising quality
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Basic repair and maintenance skills to include painting, changing light bulbs, doing minor repairs.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ABILITIES
- Frequent lifting under 30 lbs.
- Frequent bending, stooping, crawling, climbing, lifting; sitting, standing, walking for extended periods
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure
