Merit Children's Academy at Lakewood is looking for a great cook!
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing, cooking, and serving meals and snacks according to the daycare’s nutritional guidelines.
- Help with washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting food items as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including dishwashing and sanitizing surfaces.
- Ensure food storage complies with health and safety standards.
- Spend time in a classroom if needed
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a kitchen or childcare setting is a plus but not required.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate well with children and staff.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 40 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
