Job Purpose and Objectives:
The primary objective of this position is to provide medical care, treatment, and case management to inmates of the Reno County Jail to promote overall health utilizing the nursing process in triage, professional training, and various resources in accordance with regulatory agencies and established guidelines. The inmate patient population generally has not had consistent access to healthcare prior to their incarceration. This position will provide an opportunity to see and care for an interesting variety of health concerns from minor ailments to major and atypical conditions.

Position Requirements:
- Must be a US citizen or non-US citizen able to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Candidates in this position may be required to pass a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, or policies:
- Record of criminal activity and criminal history using a named-based record check before employment is offered or before job duties are assigned that might expose them to KCJIS-sensitive information.
- Record of criminal activity and criminal history using a fingerprint-based check within 30 days after initial employment or assignment and before unconditional employment is offered.
- Upon hire, a two-step Tuberculosis skin test will be required. The first will need to be placed prior to starting employment.
- Graduate of an accredited RN program; current RN license, in good standing with the Kansas state licensing board.
- Minimum of one (1) year RN experience preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish desired, but not required.
- Responsible for obtaining and maintaining all certification requirements relative to the position.
Certifications / Licenses:
- Possession of a valid Kansas driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Maintain RN license and remain in good standing with the State licensing board.
