We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined Calibration Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for performing calibrations on leak standards, vacuum gauges, and other specialized equipment in a highly controlled laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and technical aptitude, basic electronics knowledge, and an interest in learning specialized calibration processes.
The successful candidate will become an integral part of the calibration team and will be trained to perform a variety of calibration procedures involving gas flow, volume, and pressure. This position offers the opportunity to develop specialized technical skills while working in a quality-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and test calibrated leaks and volume standards according to customer and company specifications.
- Perform calibration of vacuum gauges and other specialized equipment.
- Conduct gas flow, volume, pressure, and vacuum calibrations with a high degree of accuracy and quality.
- Complete calibration work efficiently and accurately to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Communicate with team members and management regarding calibration status, data, and recommended repair services.
- Follow established quality assurance procedures and industry standards.
- Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on calibration equipment and test stands.
- Read and follow technical documentation, work instructions, and established procedures.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the calibration and technical teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Electronics or a related technical field preferred, or 2–5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electronic systems.
- Experience using digital multimeters and other basic electronic test equipment.
- Working knowledge of AC/DC circuits preferred.
- Experience working with transducer outputs, such as 4–20 mA and 1–5V, is a plus.
- Basic soldering and electrical cable assembly experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, procedures, and work instructions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Experience with vacuum systems is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move approximately 30 pounds.
