Duties
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Lead daily classroom activities, ensuring a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for children of various ages, including toddlers and preschoolers.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques to promote positive interactions.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, milestones, and any concerns to foster strong home-school partnerships.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff to ensure high-quality instructional delivery and adherence to policies.
- Conduct child assessments using standardized testing tools and maintain detailed records of developmental progress.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws, health and safety regulations such as first aid and CPR certifications, and childcare licensing standards.
Experience
- Proven experience working with young children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or daycare environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development tailored to early childhood education principles such as Montessori or similar frameworks.
- Background in special education or early intervention programs is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with child development instruction, childhood welfare policies, and behavior management techniques.
- Prior classroom experience involving lesson planning, classroom management, and parent communication is essential.
- Knowledge of standardized testing procedures related to early childhood education and experience teaching physical education or tutoring young children.
- Certifications in first aid and CPR are required; experience working with children with special needs or in private school settings is a plus.
