The Role
As a CDL A Driver at McGill, you'll play a vital role in transporting organic materials and finished compost products between customer locations and company facilities.
This is a local driving position where safety, professionalism, and reliability are essential. Every load you haul supports a process that transforms organic waste into valuable compost products that help restore soils, support agriculture, and improve the environment.
What You'll Do
Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, dump trailers, roll-offs, and walking floor trailers
Transport organic materials, yard waste, and finished compost products
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections
Complete DOT logs, inspection reports, and required documentation
Follow all DOT regulations and company safety policies
Maintain communication with dispatch and operations teams
Ensure loads are transported safely and efficiently
Assist with loading and unloading when necessary
Represent McGill professionally at customer and facility locations

Qualifications
Valid CDL Class A License
Clean driving record and strong safety history
Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends as needed
Strong communication and professionalism
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
1+ year of CDL A driving experience
Experience with dump trailers, roll-offs, or walking floor trailers
Experience in waste, recycling, construction, aggregate, or hauling operations
Basic mechanical knowledge
