Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Traffic Control Crew Leader to oversee and coordinate traffic management operations at construction sites. In this vital role, you will lead a team responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians around active work zones. Your expertise will help maintain safety standards, facilitate smooth workflow, and support the overall success of construction projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to take charge of traffic control activities while working with heavy equipment and construction teams to uphold safety and productivity.
Duties
- Lead and supervise a team of traffic control personnel, assigning tasks and ensuring adherence to safety protocols
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices such as cones, barriers, signage, and flagging equipment in accordance with local regulations and project specifications
- Coordinate with construction managers, site supervisors, and utility crews to plan traffic flow and minimize disruptions
- Monitor traffic conditions around the site, making adjustments as needed to ensure safety for workers and the public
- Conduct regular inspections of traffic control setups, ensuring proper placement, visibility, and functionality of all devices
- Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and equipment usage to ensure compliance with safety standards and project timelines
- Other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Proven experience in traffic control operations, minimum 2 years of experience.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with traffic control standards, signage installation, flagging procedures, and safety regulations
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety and efficiency
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Relevant licenses or training in traffic control or flagging are a plus
- Knowledge of construction site safety practices and experience working on utility or infrastructure projects
- Clean Drug Screen, Background check, & Driving history
