Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Product Engineer to join our engineering team, to support the design, development, and continuous improvement of hydraulic snubber products used in demanding industrial and commercial nuclear applications. This role is responsible for the product design, engineering analysis, testing, troubleshooting, qualification support, and technical engagement throughout the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with hydraulic snubber design, strong mechanical engineering capabilities, and a solid understanding of fluid power systems. Experience with Hydraulic and pneumatic actuation systems is highly desirable.
This position will also play a key role in expanding our established nuclear actuation product portfolio. Requiring about 25% travel, this role will require someone with a blend of technical leadership, product development expertise, and entrepreneurial mindset, and the desire to be customer facing.
Duties
- Design, develop, and improve hydraulic snubber products and related assemblies.
- Develop engineering solutions that improve product reliability, manufacturability, performance, quality, and cost effectiveness.
- Create engineering drawings, specifications, bills and technical documentation.
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analyses, design reviews, and design verification activities.
- Support product testing, qualification, validation, and troubleshooting efforts.
- Provide technical support to customers, sales teams, manufacturing, quality, and field service personnel.
- Collaborate with manufacturing to improve assembly processes, product quality, and production efficiency.
- Interface with suppliers on component selection, qualification, and technical issues.
- Support all phases of new product development, from concept creation and design through testing, qualification, and product release.
- Lead engineering efforts associated with the reintroduction, modernization, qualification, and commercialization of legacy nuclear products.
- Evaluate historical designs, specifications, qualification documentation, and field performance data to support product redevelopment activities.
- Contribute to the development, qualification, and lifecycle management of nuclear actuation products and assemblies.
- Ensure products comply with applicable customer specifications, industry standards, quality requirements, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of product engineering, design engineering, or related experience.
- Experience designing, analyzing, or supporting hydraulic snubber systems or similar motion control products.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, fluid power systems, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or similar platforms.
- Experience creating and maintaining engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Strongly Preferred & Helpful Qualifications
- Experience in power generation, commercial nuclear, energy, petrochemical, or other heavy industrial markets.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic actuation systems.
- Experience with valves, cylinders, accumulators, seals, dampers, snubbers, actuators, or other fluid power devices.
- Experience designing, qualifying, or supporting components for commercial nuclear applications.
- Familiarity with ASME codes and industry standards applicable to industrial and nuclear products.
- Experience with product testing, qualification programs, and validation methodologies.
- Experience with FEA and engineering analysis tools.
- Familiarity with nuclear quality assurance programs and regulatory requirements.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
