Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cable Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing cabling systems for telecommunications and data networks. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, computer networking, and low voltage installations. The Cable Technician will work in various environments, ensuring that all installations meet safety standards and client specifications.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Ethernet cabling systems for residential and commercial clients.
- Conduct field service visits to diagnose and resolve issues related to telephone and data services.
- Utilize tools such as voltmeters and ohmmeters to test electrical connections and ensure proper functionality of cabling systems.
- Collaborate with other technicians to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding installation processes and technical issues.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and inventory management.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in cabling technology to enhance service delivery.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Service Technician or similar role in the telecommunications field.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking principles and low voltage electrical systems.
- Familiarity with cabling techniques and standards for installation and maintenance.
- Proficiency in using testing equipment such as voltmeters and ohmmeters.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Valid driver's license may be required for field service responsibilities.
