Company Brewing Overview
Tall City Brewing is a young brewery in one of the last areas to start adopting craft brewing in West Texas. We are growing constantly and are looking to grow our team to keep up with demand. Located in Midland, TX we work to make craft beer available to all people from the roughnecks to the businessman and all those in between. We work with those in the community to make Midland a better place and to show how wonderful and diverse the craft beer community is and can be.
We are looking for a hardworking, self-starting person to take over the role of Keg Washer/Package Tech who is dedicated to putting out the best product possible. Experience is a plus but is not needed if you have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. We are a team at Tall City and we need someone who is trustworthy and can do the job correctly even when no one is watching.
Position Summary
Our Keg Washer/Package Tech will be a part of all packaging (kegging and canning) and making sure the kegs are cleaned and sanitized to be ready for use. Depending on experience, a member of our brewery staff may be involved in other aspects of the production and packaging of beer in the brewery.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a production environment is a plus
- Advanced home brewing or commercial brewing experience preferred but not required.
Required Competencies
- Read, write and use based computer tools (i.e. basic spreadsheets, inventory management tools, etc)
- Communicate status of activities to other brewery employees
- Knowledge of hazards that exist in the brewery (i.e. chemical, temperature, pressure)
- Lift up to 55lb individually, shoulder height
- Lift up to 140lb with the help of other individuals
- Move pallets with the aid of lifting equipment
- Climb stairs and ladders
- Ability to work in a sometimes loud, hot, cold, wet, slippery production environment utilizing required PPE
- Attention to detail and a passion for beer
- Forklift certification preferred
Job Functions
- Package beer into kegs and cans
- Perform daily quality checks and update records
- Prepare grain, brewing liquor, hops, and yeast for brew day operations
- Tank and Equipment cleaning per establish standard operating procedures
- Clean and sanitization of kegs using semi-automated keg washer
- Participate in sensory analysis panels
