Duties
- Prepare high-quality sushi and Japanese cuisine following established recipes and safety standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as sushi rollers, knives, fryers, and other culinary tools with precision and safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workspace in compliance with food safety regulations
- Manage food handling procedures ensuring freshness, proper storage, and sanitation at all times
- Take customer orders accurately using Aloha POS or Micros POS systems, process transactions efficiently, and handle cash register operations
- Provide friendly customer service by assisting guests with menu selections, upselling items, and managing food service orders promptly
- Operate the cash register for retail sales transactions, process cash handling accurately, and balance cash drawers at shift end
- Ensure quick service delivery by managing time effectively during busy hours while maintaining quality standards
- Support team members in food preparation and kitchen duties as needed to ensure smooth daily operations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, especially in sushi or Japanese cuisine preferred but not required; culinary experience is highly valued
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for order management and sales processing
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper food handling techniques
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Previous experience working in quick service or fast food restaurants is advantageous
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively while adhering to health regulations
- Outstanding customer service skills with a friendly attitude that enhances guest satisfaction
- Basic math skills for cash handling, transaction processing, and inventory management
- Retail sales experience including upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities
