One on One Care is seeking a dependable, attentive caregiver for a sweet young girl with autism who is nonverbal. The ideal caregiver will be patient, caring and comfortable providing close supervision in the family’s home.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:00–8:00 p.m. (20 hours/week)
Hours may be extended to 9:00 p.m. pending approval.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive supervision and companionship
- Assist with feeding and mealtime
- Assist with toileting and personal care
- Closely monitor for safety risks, including elopement and placing objects in her mouth
- Engage her in safe, age-appropriate activities
- Perform light housekeeping related to her care
- Communicate regularly with her family and the One on One Care team
Qualifications
- Experience caring for children with autism or developmental disabilities is strongly preferred
- Patient, dependable and highly attentive
- Comfortable working with a nonverbal child
- Able to follow the family’s established routines and safety plan
- Must meet all One on One Care employment and background-check requirements
