Are you trying to decide if a career in healthcare is for you? Have you considered the rewarding, fast-paced, and fun-filled career of outpatient physical therapy? Becoming a physical therapy technician is an excellent way to get your feet wet as you consider a healthcare profession and possibly a career.
At Desert Edge PT we are excited to announce that we have an opening for a new technician team member. Ideal candidates are those that are 18 years or older, are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, are motivated, self-starters, and are interested in becoming an integral part of a fun and upbeat team.
No certificate or experience is required. Physical therapy technicians are trained on-site and are mentored along the way by all staff members. To give a little more information, the role of the physical therapy technician is to assist the physical therapist in the stretching, exercising, and modality portion of patient treatment. This is a critical role in our physical therapy clinic because the flow of patient care is dictated by how well this role is performed. As a technician, you will demonstrate, observe, and correct patient’s exercises, apply heat, ice, or electric stimulation pads to the patient’s problem areas. In addition to serving our patients, it is expected that you will perform some clinic chores which will include cleaning and organization.
