Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This vital role combines front-office responsibilities with clinical support, ensuring a seamless experience for patients and providers alike. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to a positive patient environment. You will be the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, patient intake, and administrative tasks while supporting clinical procedures.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in/check-out procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Collect patient information, verify insurance details, and perform intake assessments to ensure accurate documentation
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with precision
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks including medication administration, specimen collection, and basic physiology assessments
- Support clinical procedures by preparing examination rooms, handling X-ray requests, and maintaining sterile environments in outpatient or inpatient settings
- Maintain thorough documentation of patient interactions, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and medical history in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Manage appointment scheduling, follow-up reminders, and coordinate referrals across specialties such as geriatrics, internal medicine, or trauma centers
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, offering reassurance, and ensuring a smooth flow throughout the visit
Experience
- Prior experience working in Pediatric clinics or family medicine environments is highly desirable, but not required
- Hands-on experience with EHR systems (such as Epic) and medical administrative support is essential for success in this role
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medication administration enhances your ability to support clinical teams effectively
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to ensure preparedness for emergency situations
