Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, medication administration, and aseptic techniques, particularly in a hospital or critical care setting.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
- Perform medication administration under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.
- Maintain accurate patient records and medication profiles.
- Prepare IV infusions following established protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations and standards.
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and addressing concerns related to medications.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Keep the pharmacy area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and procedures.
- Proficiency in medical terminology relevant to pharmacy practice.
- Experience with IV infusion preparation and administration.
- Familiarity with critical care environments is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in medication dispensing.
