Position Summary: As a member of the management team the Intake Supervisor provides direction and consultation to clinical staff to ensure services and support are in place to meet the behavioral health needs of clients. This position provides direct care to the client population as needed by engaging individuals to assess for mental health needs, both chronic and acute. Determines immediate course of treatment and ensure enrollment/admission for mental health treatment in a timely manner.
Critical Tasks:
- Be able to do all critical tasks of subordinate roles.
- Provides clinical oversight, guidance and support to assigned staff, using a strength-based approach.
- Ensures adherence to board standards, agencies standards, policies and procedures.
- Ensure staff are oriented to the GRIC community and stakeholders.
- Provides on-going training to ensure staff are trained in skills necessary to perform their job duties.
- Responds to crisis situations with leadership and direction, ensuring quality client care and collaboration of services.
- Provides on-going training and supervision to the Intake Specialist team ensuring documentation is in compliance with State regulations.
- Recruits and selects new Intake Specialists in conjunction with the Intake Manager.
- Conducts staff development plans, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations to assigned staff members.
- Ensures a holistic and thorough approach to all client interactions and assessments by subordinate staff so that no symptoms and no personal health risks are not observed, duly noted and responded appropriately to.
- Ensures fully accurate verification of insurance benefits prior to acceptance and admission of patients.
- Ensures timely mental health assessments on a rapid basis resulting in clinically accurate diagnoses and referral for initial services.
- Interfaces with ADHS/AHCCCS for notification of individual enrollments in Behavioral Health Services.
- Assembles, analyzes and presents various operating, treatment and enrollment reports.
- Promotes quality client care by receiving and responding to client and community concerns.
- Provides on-going supervision and consultation.
- Recruits and selects new Case Managers and/or Clinical Liaisons in conjunction with the Clinical Manager.
- Conducts staff development plans, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations to assigned staff members.
- Performs case management functions of advocacy and care coordination, as needed.
- Promotes and adheres to GRHC Code of Conduct and Ethics.
- Demonstrates ability to regularly change priorities to accomplish all tasks despite frequent interruptions.
- Demonstrates ability to clearly communicate, both orally and in writing, while performing all essential functions.
- Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, Substance Use/Addictions or closely related field of study from an accredited university or college.
- Current independent license form Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as an LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LIAC required.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Indian Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.
- Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
- Current and continuing CPR/FA and/or BLS training and certification required.
- State of Arizona driver’s license with no significant violations during the last 5 years.
- Five years previous experience in behavioral health field with experience in assessments and intakes preferred.
