Duties
- Assess patients’ respiratory status through detailed evaluation of vital signs, oxygenation levels, and pulmonary function tests.
- Administer respiratory treatments including aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, and medication delivery with precision and care.
- Operate and troubleshoot various respiratory devices such as ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP machines, and other advanced medical equipment.
- Manage airway procedures including intubation, extubation, and airway clearance techniques for patients of all ages, including neonates and geriatrics.
- Respond swiftly to cardiac arrest emergencies by providing advanced airway management and participating in resuscitation efforts following neonatal resuscitation procedures and ACLS protocols.
- Document patient care activities accurately within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while maintaining compliance with hospital policies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in ICU, emergency departments, operating rooms, and outpatient clinics to deliver comprehensive respiratory care aligned with physiology knowledge and anatomy expertise.
Experience
- Proven experience in hospital environments with a focus on critical care settings such as ICU or Level I/II trauma centers.
- Demonstrated proficiency in ventilator management, airway management techniques, and acute care procedures across pediatric, neonatal, and adult populations.
- Strong background in emergency medicine scenarios including cardiac arrest response and trauma support.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, respiratory devices, electronic health records (EHR/EHR), and medical equipment operation.
- Prior outpatient or clinic experience is advantageous; experience working within Geriatrics or pulmonology specialties is a plus.
- Ability to perform patient assessments effectively while demonstrating excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration.
- Knowledge of medication administration related to respiratory therapies and familiarity with hospital protocols for acute care situations.
