Responsibilities
Assist senior electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems on construction sites and industrial facilities. Use hand tools and power tools to perform tasks such as wiring, conduit bending, and fixture installation under supervision. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate project execution. Support the testing of electrical circuits using tools like ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment. Adhere strictly to safety standards including NEC (National Electrical Code) regulations and OSHA guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. Participate in the installation of low voltage systems such as data cabling, security alarms, or communication networks. Help with framing carpentry tasks related to electrical installations when necessary, ensuring proper support for wiring pathways.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical coursework or prior construction experience is a plus. Basic understanding of electrical concepts, including familiarity with schematics and blueprints. Experience with hand tools, power tools, and testing devices like ohmmeters preferred. Knowledge of NEC standards, low voltage wiring, and high voltage safety practices is advantageous. Previous construction site experience or exposure to industrial or commercial environments is highly desirable. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately. Excellent teamwork skills combined with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills in a fast-paced setting.
