As a Skills Development Specialist, you'll work one-on-one with individuals to help them develop the everyday skills needed to live healthier, more independent, and fulfilling lives. You'll provide encouragement, guidance, and practical support while helping clients achieve goals identified in their individualized treatment plans.
Responsibilities include:
Teaching daily living skills, money management, and time management.
Coaching and encouraging the development of appropriate social interactions and conflict resolution.
Encouraging independence while promoting confidence and self-advocacy.
Supporting individuals in community-based settings, in community or family homes, or in other natural environments.
Collaborating with families, referral sources, and care team to coordinate an effective skills-based approach based on the assessment and service plans.
Supporting client success and helping them achieve determined goals.
Creating timely, accurate, and detailed notes to effectively document services while supporting billing activity and integrated case management.
Maintaining updated and accurate billing for all client services.
Most importantly, building trusting, respectful relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Education, Training & Work Experience: Experience/knowledge working with children with behavioral struggles preferred. A Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills: Trained in trauma informed care principles, Non-violent Crisis Intervention, and skills-based interventions. Ability to maintain CPI principles in crisis situations.
Technical skills: Microsoft Office, Gmail/Calendar, and other system and database experience. Valid driver's license.
Work Environment & Physical Demands: While some of your scheduled hours will be in a general office settings, you will also be visiting client and community homes. Some local travel via agency or personal vehicle is required; valid driver's license and auto insurance must be maintained.
