American Traveler is hiring an Advanced Heart Failure RN - LVAD Navigator for a 13-week travel assignment requiring 2 years of experience and at least one prior travel assignment.

Work as a Nurse Navigator within the Advanced Heart Failure/LVAD program in a hospital setting
-
Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM)

No weekend shifts required
-
13-week contract assignment

Active DC RN license required
-
BLS certification required
-
Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience within the last 7 years

At least 1 previous travel assignment required

Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the previous 3 years

Skills in cardiovascular care including arrhythmia interpretation, cardiac arrest/CPR response, and chest pain assessment

Experience with patient assessment, medication reconciliation, and patient teaching

Coordinate care and serve as a navigator for advanced heart failure and LVAD patients

Responsibilities may include patient assessment, medication reconciliation, patient teaching, and follow-up phone calls

Candidates must reside within a 60-mile radius to qualify for travel rate; local candidates accepted at a lower rate

No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, which must be submitted upfront and cannot be changed after submission

Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
