American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring 1+ years of experience, Epic proficiency, and ONS/ONCC certification.

Work in the Oncology unit of a hospital setting

Patient ratio of 1:7
-
Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
-
No weekend requirement
-
No call requirement
-
No floating requirement
-
Epic charting system used
-
Active LA RN license or Compact license required at time of consideration

Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and ONS/ONCC
-
OCN certification preferred
-
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
-
Epic charting experience required
-
Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
-
Previous charge nurse experience preferred
-
Skilled in IV therapy/infusions, port access and management, central line and PICC line care, and administration of blood/blood products
-
Experience with chemotherapy administration, monitoring, and management of side effects
-
Experience with biotherapy administration, including interferons and interleukins
-
Experience recognizing and communicating abnormal lab values
-
Experience caring for patients with various cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, leukemia, lymphoma, and other oncology conditions
-
Experience with pain management including IV push narcotics and PCA pump management
-
Phlebotomy skills preferred
-
At least two recent manager references required

Provide comprehensive oncology nursing care including chemotherapy administration, infusion therapy, and symptom management

Deliver patient and family education and psychosocial support

Navy blue scrubs required

Maximum RTO of 5 days allowed during the assignment

Must reside within 75 miles to qualify for local rate; candidates outside this radius are eligible for travel rate

Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered

Former permanent staff must have separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible for travel assignments
