JMJ ProWash is expanding, and we are looking for a motivated, energetic, and dependable Commercial Kitchen Hood Cleaning Assistant to join our crew in the Greater Wilmington area!
This is an active, fast-paced role where no two nights are the same. If you take pride in transforming dirty kitchen exhausts into sparkling, fire-safe systems, love staying moving, and bring a strong sense of urgency to every job site, we want you on our team!
What You’ll Be Doing
Working directly alongside our Lead Technician, you will help execute thorough, top-quality cleanings of commercial restaurant exhaust systems:
- Site Setup & Prep: Protect client kitchens by masking and covering sensitive cooking equipment and pilot lights before service.
- Filter & Hood Cleaning: Remove baffle filters, scrape heavy grease buildup, and assist with power-washing and detailing hoods, ducts, fans, and filters.
- Final Polish & Shine: Wipe down appliances, polish stainless steel hood surfaces to a high shine, and leave the kitchen spotless.
- Clean-Up & Breakdown: Mop floors, pack up equipment, roll hoses, and ensure job sites are left cleaner than you found them.
- Team Support: Assist the lead technician efficiently throughout the shift to keep jobs running smoothly and on schedule.
What We’re Looking For
- Speed & Focus: Ability to work efficiently with a true sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable Transportation (Non-Negotiable): A valid driver’s license and your own dependable vehicle to travel to dispatch locations or job sites.
- Night Owls Welcomed: Comfortable working late-evening and overnight shifts when restaurant kitchens are closed.
- Physical Stamina: Ready for hands-on, physical work—standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working in wet/greasy kitchen settings.
- Great Attitude & Integrity: Punctual, trustworthy, coachable, detail-oriented, and safety-minded.
- No Experience? No Problem! Prior cleaning or physical trade experience is a plus, but we provide complete, paid hands-on training for the right person.
