About The Roasted Bean
The Roasted Bean is Auburn's neighborhood coffee shop — a place where regulars are greeted by name, drinks are made by hand, and the first cup of the morning sets the tone for someone's whole day. The Role
We're looking for a positive, energetic, and self-motivated barista to join our morning crew. As one of the first faces our customers see each day, you'll craft quality espresso drinks, keep the café running smoothly, and create the kind of warm, friendly experience that keeps people coming back. No two mornings are exactly alike, so we want someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting and takes real ownership of their shift.
What You'll Do
- Greet every guest with a smile and provide friendly, attentive service
- Prepare and serve high-quality espresso drinks, brewed coffee, and other menu items to our standards
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment
- Take orders accurately and handle cash and card transactions with care
- Keep the café spotless — wiping surfaces, washing equipment, and following all cleaning routines
- Restock supplies, rotate product, and help keep inventory organized
- Follow all food-safety and sanitation guidelines
- Pitch in wherever needed and contribute to a positive, supportive team environment
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- A positive, friendly, service-oriented attitude
- Energetic, dependable, and self-motivated — someone who takes initiative
- Reliable and punctual, with availability for early-morning shifts and rotating weekends
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and staying calm during the morning rush
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift/carry supplies (up to ~25 lbs)
- A team player with strong communication skills
Nice to have (but not required — we provide paid training!):
- Previous barista, café, food-service, or customer-service experience
- Familiarity with espresso equipment or latte art
- A current food handler's certification
