We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Grill/Steam Table/Prep team member to join our vibrant culinary team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food items using grilling, steaming, braising, poaching, and other cooking techniques to ensure quality and consistency.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, steam tables, ovens, and food warmers safely and efficiently.
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures diligently to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.
- Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients and ensuring proper portioning for high-volume production.
- Support food production for various service settings including catering, fine dining, and regular restaurant service.
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper food handling practices are followed at all times.
- Maintain organization of prep stations and ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and rotated according to safety standards.
Requirements
- Previous dietary aide or culinary experience preferred, especially in high-volume or fine dining settings.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and general kitchen operations.
- Experience operating kitchen equipment such as grills, steam tables, knives, and other culinary tools.
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures to prevent contamination.
- Ability to follow recipes precisely while maintaining flexibility during busy service periods.
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation for large quantities.
- Prior experience in the food industry or restaurant environment is highly desirable; catering experience is a plus.
