The following duties are to be performed under the supervision of a qualified credentialed Respiratory Care Practitioner.

Perform physician prescribed routine and advanced therapeutic diagnostic procedures for neonatal, pediatric, adolescence, adult and geriatric patients.

Evaluates appropriateness of Respiratory Care Therapy with based upon patient assessment.

Communicates proposed changes in Respiratory Care Therapies with other members of the healthcare team.

Provide effective education to patient and co-workers as appropriate.

Performs diagnostic procedures including arterial punctures, blood gas analysis, pulmonary function, EKG, oximetry, etc.

Performs emergency and acute Respiratory care procedures in accordance with the quality guidelines in the department policy and procedure.

Maintain clinical and professional competency based upon established standards of practice.

Assembles, checks and corrects malfunctions and performs quality control on equipment.

Actively participates in departmental quality improvement and hospital-wide organizational performance improvement activities.

Reviews, collects, and evaluates relevant clinical data on patients.

Will be responsible for developing respiratory patients plan.
PERFORMS OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
Sign on bonus of $7,000.00 if hired for full-time position. More information will be given during hiring process.
Illinois State issued Respiratory Therapist Licensure.
Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Care, Certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Three (3) years clinical experience and two (2) years acute care training.
Experience of Arterial Blood Gas acquisition and EKG.
Current BLS/CPR and ACLS Certification Required.
Computer experience needed.
EQUIPMENT:
Adult ventilators, Respirators, Blood Gas, Ultrasonic nebulizers, Pulmonary Function Spirometer, Pulse Oximeter, Small Volume Nebulizer, Incentive Spirometer, Oxygen Flow Meter and Regulators, EKG machine IPPB Machine.
MUST BE VACCINATED FOR COVID-19
Considerable physical effort in walking and standing for long periods. Ability to access all patient care areas required. A potential risk exists for exposure to hazardous materials, communicable diseases, radiation, and blood and/or body fluids. Ability to successfully demonstrate Respiratory Care competencies required.
