The Uncommon Business is seeking a People Operations Coordinator to own every stage of the employee lifecycle — from the first candidate touchpoint to the systems that keep long-tenured team members genuinely supported. This is not a traditional HR role. You'll be building and running the machine at the same time, in a fast-scaling, AI-first company that takes its people seriously.
This position is based in Boise, ID. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate.

Key Responsibilities
Recruiting & Candidate Experience
- Manage job postings across platforms and maintain a clean, accurate ATS
- Coordinate interviews across time zones and own candidate communication from application through offer
- Ensure every candidate is informed and every hiring manager stays on track
Onboarding & Day-One Experience
- Own the full onboarding workflow: welcome communications, system access, first-week scheduling, buddy coordination, and I-9 completion
- Build and iterate on automations so every new hire receives a consistent, exceptional first impression
HRIS & Data Integrity
- Maintain accurate employee records in Rippling across the full employee lifecycle
- Process job changes, promotions, transfers, and offboarding without errors
- Run recurring people data reports: headcount, turnover, and compliance
Employee Experience & Engagement
- Support culture initiatives, recognition programs, and pulse surveys
- Synthesize employee feedback into clear takeaways for leadership
- Serve as a reliable first point of contact for team member HR questions
Compliance & Policy Operations
- Maintain the employee handbook and keep personnel files audit-ready
- Support multi-state and international employment compliance
- Own offboarding logistics from exit documentation through system deprovisioning
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in HR, People Operations, or recruiting coordination in a high-growth environment
- Demonstrated experience building or significantly improving at least one people process from scratch
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a warm, people-first approach
- Proficiency in HRIS platforms such as Rippling, Gusto, or similar
- Working knowledge of multi-state employment compliance
- Familiarity with AI tools and automation in an HR context
- High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification (active or in progress)
- Experience with Notion or similar project management platforms
- Familiarity with Deel, Remote, or other EOR/contractor management tools
- Exposure to ICHRA, LSA, or benefits administration for distributed teams
Success Metrics
- Employee lifecycle touchpoints (offer, onboarding, milestones) completed on time with zero dropped handoffs
- HRIS records current and audit-ready on a rolling basis
- New hire onboarding milestones met at 30, 60, and 90 days at or above target rate
- Handbook, policies, and contractor documentation current and compliant each quarter
- Director of People not fielding questions that have a documented answer
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $55,000 – $75,000 (commensurate with experience)

Work Schedule
This role operates in a high-accountability environment with two championship-season cycles per year — intentional, high-intensity windows where the full team rallies for clients and company results. Increased availability is expected during these periods. Outside of launch seasons, workload is sustainable and strategically focused.
