American Traveler is seeking an experienced oncology RN for a night shift travel position on a 24-bed Oncology/Women's Surgical unit, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active ONC certification.

Position is located on the 9th floor Oncology/Women's Surgical unit (K9A) of an 815-bed acute care hospital in Asheville, NC
-
24-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5

Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM

Oncology and women's surgical patient population
-
Procedures performed on unit include occasional pelvic exams, echocardiograms, and thoracentesis
-
Standard unit equipment in use; EMR is Cerner
-
Staff are required to work 6 weekend days per schedule

On-call is rare
-
Floating to other med/surg units is possible, though the team rarely floats
-
13-week contract
-
Active NC or compact RN license required
-
Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date)

ONC (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification required for all RNs in this oncology role

Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in oncology required

No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted

Chemo certification is preferred and will be prioritized during candidate review

The ideal candidate is a team player with a willingness to learn

RN dress code: navy, white, or a combination of both colors
