Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their orders at the cashier station, ensuring a positive first impression
- Prepare ingredients and assist with food prep tasks such as chopping, assembling, and portioning to support kitchen staff
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep area, adhering to food safety standards
- Handle cash register transactions accurately, including processing payments and giving change
- Support kitchen staff with basic cooking tasks when needed, including meal assembly and plating
- Ensure all food handling procedures meet health regulations and safety guidelines
- Restock supplies and ingredients regularly to keep the prep station well-equipped for busy service periods
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant work, or culinary environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling safety standards
- Strong knife skills and experience in meal preparation or catering are advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly attitude toward customers and team members
- Basic understanding of food safety protocols and sanitation procedures
- Prior kitchen experience or background in the food industry will help you excel in this role
