About the Role
Camp Runoia has called the shores of Great Pond in Belgrade, Maine home for over 100 years. We're a traditional all-girls sleepaway camp and our barn is at the heart of what we do. We're looking for experienced horse people to join our team this summer — and we're flexible on how that looks.
Two ways to join us this summer:
Full time, live-in staff from late June through mid-August. Housing and all meals provided on-site on the shores of Great Pond. This is camp life at its best.
Or, if a full summer isn't possible, we're open to flexible, part time arrangements throughout the summer for the right person. Come when you can, do work that matters.
What You'll Do
Deliver English/Hunter Jumper instruction to campers of all ages and skill levels, assist with daily horse care and barn operations, and contribute to one of the most popular programs at camp. Our herd runs 9-12 horses and our riding program has been a Runoia staple for generations.
What We're Looking For
Real, hands-on experience with horses — riding, teaching, and barn care. You're comfortable with all kinds of horses, confident instructing beginners through advanced riders, and happy to pitch in wherever the barn needs you. Prior camp or teaching experience is a plus but not required.
