Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Landscape Maintenance Assistant to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, and trimming trees and shrubs to ensure healthy growth and visual appeal
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and landscaping equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and excavators safely and efficiently
- Support irrigation system installation, inspection, repair, and management to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns
- Identify various plants, trees, and shrubs to support proper horticultural practices and plant health monitoring
- Manage lawn care routines including fertilization, aeration, weed control, and snow plowing during winter months
- Perform hardscape maintenance such as cleaning pathways, repairing pavers or retaining walls to maintain safety and aesthetics
- Follow pesticide management protocols responsibly to protect plants while ensuring safety for colleagues and the environment
Qualifications
- Demonstrated mechanical knowledge with experience operating landscaping or construction equipment such as excavators or snow plows
- Basic understanding of landscape maintenance practices including lawn care, pruning, planting, and irrigation systems
- Knowledge of plant identification and horticulture principles to support healthy plant growth
- Familiarity with pesticide management procedures for safe application and environmental protection
- Prior experience in landscaping or gardening is preferred; construction experience is a plus
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and gardening equipment safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for maintaining grounds standards
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude
