Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean and service assigned rooms and/or areas according to established standards (5 Ways of Clean) and procedures to include making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash, etc.
- Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards
- Replenish amenities according to operational standards
- Perform rotation cleaning duties as assigned by Executive Housekeeper
- Wear safety protection equipment as provided to keep in line with department regulations and any local legislative requirements
- Greet and acknowledge guests
- Notify supervisor when service is complete so that rooms may be sold or occupied
- Notify supervisor if guest room is unable to be serviced
- Document and report to supervisor if a guest room is in need of repair or damage has been done
- Keep housekeeping cart properly stacked with supplies such as cleaning agents and cloths
- Transport dirty laundry to the washing area in a timely manner
- Follow established safety procedures at all times. Immediately report any health and safety incident, security breaches, concerns or suspicious behavior to the supervisor
- Respond to guest complaints, special requests and take action to ensure guest satisfaction
- Monitor and control supplies and amenities and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping
- Report, turn in and/or log all lost and found items according to established procedures
- Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service
- May regularly assist with deep cleaning projects
- May assist with other duties as assigned
Management Contributions for Success:
- Providing training on the 5 Ways of Clean
- Provide feedback after a room inspection
- Assist with any training that may be required to enhance job performance
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Basic reading, writing and math skills
This job requires the ability to perform the following:
- Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and the ability to push and pull
- Prolonged standing and moving about the hotel
- Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
- Frequently bending, stooping and kneeling
- Able to work alone as well as being a team member
- Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays
